These two beautiful children from Bristow, Virginia were here a week ago. All though I will show the color version of these childrens portraits to their parents, I fell in love with this vintage look and decided to share those here on the blog. Yummy!
Feel free to leave comments for their mommy & daddy! We all love to hear how adorable our little ones are!

Just before the snow began to fall last week, this sweet couple and their newborn baby son came from Ashburn Virgina for a newborn portrait art session. What a sweet baby he is! He slept nearly the entire time with only a little squeak now and again. Oh, and his HAIR! Love, love, love his hair!! I had a really hard time keeping my hands off of his soft curls!
Dad is a marine who was home for the birth of his son and must return to the west coast next week so I know he will enjoy seeing this sneak peek of his brand new baby boy!

This little guy from the Rockville Maryland area was in last week and was Mr. Smiley for all of about 40 minutes at which time he decided the session was over – lol!
He just was not in the mood so mom and grandma brought him back this past week. This time, he was totally “on”. His other grandma calls him “Dude” and says he smiles when she does, so you know I had to try it and believe it or not, it did get his attention! Too cute!
So, here is a sneak peek from little “Dude’s” second visit…he did great mom and dad!

On Wednesday we made new friends with an entire family from Olney Maryland…and their new little man got to have a teddy bear party and meet some new fuzzy friends himself!
At 10 weeks old we knew we’d get some awesome expressions! Just look at that little grin and those bright baby blue eyes!
I know his adoring family have been waiting patiently for his sneak peek so lets leave them some blog love in the comment box below!

Love this image from a newborn session last week and could not resist putting a bit of an artistic spin on it. This little man let us do anything with him…once he was in a deep sleep! Doesn’t he have the cutest itty bitty baby bottom?

This newborns mom and dad from Bristow Virginia are New York Giants fans and they brought the cutest little hat and souvenier football so that we could create a fun portrait art piece of their lil’ fan! Isn’t he the cutest little NY Giants fan you have ever seen?
What a sport he was…looks like he is contemplating the next play action!

I normally share two sneak peeks and since I only had time last week for one of these precious newborn twins, I wanted to share another one for their mother, father and extended family! There are so many cute ones it was hard to pick but this one has to be one of the cutest!

Oh my goodness, these precious newborn twins from Vienna, Virginia just melted my heart! Their mom and dad are blessed indeed. I was **told** that Miss S was a bit more fiesty than her brother but they both were totally awesome throughout their entire portrait session. Mom, Dad and family have been patiently waiting for a sneak peek of this little pair since early in the week….so here they are!

Can you believe that 2010 is already upon us? Do you, like me, wonder where the time has gone and how it is that your children are growing so fast and furiously? Do you remember when the summer lasted forever and it seemed like ages between Christmases? I do! And I could just swear that I was holding my own ”babies” in my arms just a few short years ago but reality is that it was almost 10 years ago. So, what is my point you ask? Enjoy each and every day as if it were your last! Take time to hug your child, your husband, your friends. Wave at your neighbors and smile at the grocery store clerk or the stranger you pass on the street…you have no idea how one simple act like that can change a person’s day and brighten that one little moment in their lives!
It was cold a couple days ago and my kids were due to arrive home in a couple hours. Knowing how much they love to watch the fire burning, I thought it would be nice to build a fire in our fireplace for them as a surprise when they got home. After 15-20 minutes, I had a nice, cozy warm fire burning. Of course, if you ask my logical husband, he’d be the first to tell you that fireplaces are like letting all the heat in your house fly right up and out the chimney! Humbug! Even if that is true, there is something relaxing and warming to me about a fire in my fireplace so my dear hubby humors me…and I love him for it. And, apparently my little Frisco agrees with me as within minutes of me starting the fire, he had perched himself up on the arm of the overstuffed chair that flanks the fireplace.
Guess that makes it four against one in favor of the fire! :)
Happy New Year dear friends and family! May God bless and prosper each of you…not only monitarily but with health and happiness in this brand new year we are embarking on. ~ Dawn

This sweet family from South Riding, Virginia received their Christmas present about a week early – their newborn baby boy! How joyful for them! They were here just a couple days before Christmas for their newborn portrait session and this little man was such a sleepy little one to start out with…what a joy he was to play with! We created some awesome “your baby as {art}”™ portraits of this little one that I cannot wait to show to his proud parents. Below are two of my personal favorites.
Be sure to leave some comments for this newborn baby’s adoring mother and father below!

This sweet family from Leesburg, Virginia brought their precious new baby girl in this week for some creative newborn portraits. Mom was lucky and was able to take advantage of a ”sqeeze-in” session for her 11 day old and all though this little princess was a bit more alert than our normal 5-7 day old newborns, we were still able to capture some precious images of her!
Love the peacefulness in the first image…reminds me of that saying; “she’s sleeping like a baby”. And, the second one - all though not intended to be “Christmassy” - reminds me of a tuckered out little Santa’s helper!
So, here are a couple of my favorite “your baby as {art}”™ captures as a sneak peek for her doting family! Please leave them some blog love below…

This precious newborn baby boy and his proud mommy came all the way from Arlington, Virginia yesterday as a squeeze-in appointment… I am soooo glad we were able to accomodate them as we had such a wonderful time with this sleeply little man. All though he arrived almost four weeks earlier than expected, this premie still weighed in at a healthy 7 lb, 8oz and 21″ long!! I know mom was wondering what he would have weighed had he reached full term! Yikes!
Mom loves hats… so here are a few sneak peeks for her of her little blessing donning some of her favorites from our creative newborn hats collection here at the studio!
Don’t forget ~ parents of our newborns always love your comments…. don’t be shy! Leave them some blog love below…

This Alexandria Virginia mom and dad were in the portrait studio just a few weeks ago for their maternity portraits. Last week they brought their precious little baby girl back for some creative newborn baby portraits. Her mother and father have been waiting a long time to hold her…she was definitely worth the wait!
Even her abuela who was visiting from Connecticut came along to enjoy the experience… we all enjoyed watching this precious little angel donning her flower hat. And the SMILES! Oh my!! This little girl was full of smiles for us!
Thanks for leaving the parents of this newborn baby some blog love in the comment box beneath her portraits….

Christmas fun for the whole family… including the cat!! This Northern Virginia family returned to the studio for some artistic children’s portraits to use in their photo Christmas cards this holiday season. In addition to the really cool shots we got of Master “S” and his favorite furry friend (who is nearly as big as he is!), we captured some fun family Christmas portraits.
Their Christmas cards turned out totally chic and unique… too bad we can’t show you the whole card here. We don’t want to ruin their friends and family’s surprise of receiving their cards in the mail. Though with Christmas just around the corner you won’t have too long to wait to see the finished cards.
Hope you enjoy this little sneak peek. As always, be sure to leave them some blog love……

This beautiful little baby boy posed with his equally beautiful mother for some classic mom & baby portraits. He had the cutest little head of hair that had a mind of it’s own! Dad, mom and baby traveled from Woodstock, Virginia and even though baby was almost four weeks old, we were still able to capture this very, very special time with some unique infant portraits for his proud parents.
Here’s a quick sneak peek of their portrait session for all to enjoy. Don’t forget to use the gray comment box below to leave them some blog love……
