Frogs, Frogs & More Frogs! { Baby & Child Photographer Washington DC }

Since my kids are off school for Easter break this week, we decided to do a couple of “fun” things.  So, off we went to a wonderful exhibit at the National Geographic building in Washington, DC.  We all had such a great time and it was great fun trying to photograph all the cool frogs and toads.  Honestly, if...

Angela - Konner thought this was the coolest thing he had seen!!! I told them the yellow frogs were twins! LOL! Your colors are so vibrant and I love these picts! They look like they belong on a calender! Is there anything you can't take picts of so great? Ang.

Dawn - Thanks Angela, tell Konner that I am naming these little frog-ettes in honor of he and Kennah! Twin frogs - too funny!!

“A Special Tradition” { Children’s Photographer Northern Virginia }

This week I had the pleasure of meeting the two beautiful children featured below from Manassas, Virginia.  Mom brought young Master “E” in for a very special portrait session.  You see, their family has a wonderful tradition going back 100 years!  The tradition is that every boy in the family has his portrait taken at the age of 7 years.   I felt so privileged...

Dawn - It was such a pleasure to work with your two precious children! Looking forward to seeing you in a couple weeks to show you the rest of the gorgeous images! Dawn

Beth - I just love these two shots! I think you did a fantastic job in capturing them. The kids look so precious. I know them in person and they are just as wonderful in real life as in the photos you took of them. The tradition that this family has of taking photos of each generation of boys at the age of 7 is so neat! I would love to have that kind of tradition in our family! Thanks for sharing the photos with us!! Beth

Angela - Gorgeous pictures! I love the whole setup with the young boy!! And what a wonderful tradition! This is the look I love! These type of portraits are Heirlooms! The little girl, oh my what a doll baby! Gorgeous! I love the dress and it works so well with the backdrop! It is absolutely perfect! I would describe your photos as PRICELESS!

I am always excited to see the first of the Spring flowers pop their little heads...

My Family { Portraits Preserved for Future Generations }

I was thinking today about why it is that I enjoy working in my studio.  As many of you know, my studio is in the lower level of my home so as is the case many days, I went upstairs to get some laundry and as I walked down the hall, I glanced over at the family...

Wayne Campbell - Keep writing and keep taking pictures. This ability is a gift from God, meant to be used for the encouragement of others. UW

Emily Korff - Dawn, your photography is beautiful, and this post reminds me of why photographs of our family are so important. It's just wonderful to imagine that you're helping to make beautiful memories like the ones on your wall for other families :)
