What a super sweet couple we had the pleasure of meeting last week. This expecting couple from Leesburg Virginia are due to welcome their little man “very” soon! They squeezed into the schedule just in time to capture some maternity portraits of this amazing time. Doesn’t this mamma have the cutest baby bump??

This totally sweet couple from Sterling Virginia came for their maternity portraits earlier this week. They wanted their portraits to portray the beautiful bond that they share as they are waiting on their little one to arrive. Of all the lovely images we captured, this one has to be my favorite because I think it does just that. You can just feel it.

What a lovely, lovely couple. I am so blessed to be able to photograph some of the nicest couples during their special time of anticipation. And, here recently, so many of our maternity portrait clients have been coming from the Ashburn / Dulles area… must be something in the water over there!
This couple from Brambleton, VA was no exception… both are super excited about their expected little one. Dad remarked that he was not fond of being in front of the camera but honestly, the camera loves him! Just look at the image below…dad is just awesome! Mom was just gorgeous and a joy to work with too. She was such a cute little thing ~ I wish I looked that awesome at 7 months pregnant.

Like most photographers, I get an itch from time to time to try something different. This lovely lady gave me free reign… and she totally rocked the “windy mama” pose! On top of that, doesn’t she just “glow” in the pink maternity wrap?

Joy – What a gorgeous Mama! Lovely images!
Shardai – Beautiful mama I love the second pic. I was always conflicted about taking professional maternity pics because I’m a somewhat conservative person and I just wouldn’t be so bold as to take some of the pics I had seen when this phenomenon first appeared. The idea of showing my belly petrified me. But seeing these elegant mamas, especially this last one. I am definitely going to consider this for my second pregnancy.
Crystal – Where did you find the alphabet blocks? I am looking all over trying to find cute ones??
Dawn – Crystal ~ these were a gift to my son for his first birthday back in 1999 so I have absolutely no clue where to tell you they came from! Good luck searching for some similar ones!!
Yesterday we welcomed a lovely couple all the way from Waldorf, Maryland who wanted to celebrate this special time in their lives with elegant maternity portraits.
I absolutely adore how this pink maternity wrap accentuates this beautiful mom-to-be’s baby bump. Isn’t she stunning? Wow. And then, we have dad ”listening” to his growing baby…and it was so sweet that his little baby started kicking him whilst he was listening. Precious.

This expectant couple from the Washington DC area are expecting their first child! How exciting! At 37 weeks, this mom-to-be is really in the nesting mode!
She wanted to capture this time with modest yet artfully expressive images of her pregnancy. In addition, we also set up a fun shot – see below – and darned if she wasn’t such a tiny thing that I had to ask her to “push” her bump up a bit so we could tell she was preggo! That is so not fair!

This sweet mom and dad-to-be came from Alexandria, Virginia this week for a “your bump as { art }”™ maternity portrait session. Mom brought a few items from home to use and I just adore the red silk shawl she brought! She said her aunt actually put all the beautiful fringe on the edges…what an elegant way to capture this special time and honor her Spanish heritage.

A moment captured in time…a tender moment…a brief moment…a bittersweet memory that will last in this couple’s hearts forever. Shortly after the creation of this image, their sweet baby boy slipped from this world into the arms of Jesus. For reasons his sweet parents will never understand, he was called home.
Their loss touched all of us here at the studio deeply and we continue to pray for them. So, at the request of his parents, I share this in memory of little Micah Aiden. You can tell he was loved so very deeply…

This darling couple from Lorton, Virginia were in the studio Friday for their pregnancy portrait session. The expectant mom-to-be requested one of my signature bump poses; the pink tulle and gerber daisy. I asked her if she was open to trying something unique and fortunately for me, she was!
