Santa made an early visit to the Washington DC area this year.   He stopped by the studio for some fun and creative baby Christmas portraits.  Little baby “G” wasn’t exactly sure what to think.   Even when she mustered up enough nerve to reach for her “first bell of Christmas” she never took her eyes off of Santa. 

I remember when we celebrated my baby’s first Christmas (11 years ago)…. Oh the innocence and wonder………. Wow, time passes so quickly.   So mom & dad, hope this image helps you preserve the memory of your baby’s Christmas for many years to come and always….

Creative... From the Heart

It’s Christmas Eve! Hopefully by now all of your shopping is done and you are finishing up those last minute details. Personally, I am still trying to get some baking and wrapping done and still a little bit of decorating that my kids really enjoy! I’ll get there!

My daughter has asked me this question several times over the last week; “Mom, what do you really want for Christmas?” Without hesitation, I have replied each time, “PEACE.”  Not being satisfied with this answer, she wants to know what tangible thing I want but I keep assuring her that all I really want is “PEACE”.

Now, my daughter loves to make little beaded necklaces and bracelets and so I asked her to make me one that said PEACE on it, for Christmas.  She did and of course I think it turned out lovely.  In addition, my son made a little tissue paper covered candle holder made out of a baby food jar.  What better is there than to receive to hand made gifts by your children?

So, to all my dear friends and clients…I pray for PEACE to be in your family this Christmas season. God’s PEACE.  For it is only His PEACE that brings calm in a storm or comfort to those who are mourning the absence of a loved one.  I pray for PEACE to all the families who are struggling to make ends meet or who need jobs. I pray for PEACE for all our military families.  I pray for all the children who will not have any gifts under the tree this year…may God send them His PEACE to assure them that He loves them and that they have received the best gift they could ever receive…the baby in the manger, Jesus our Savior.

In closing, may God bless your homes with His PEACE and may you open your hearts more than ever to celebrate the birth of our Savior! Merry Christmas to all!

Professional Photographer Warrenton Virginia ~ { Christmas in Old Town Warrenton }

I wanted to invite you all to come to Old Town Warrenton where the streetscapes are nostalgic and return you to the days that “used to be”.    

Christmas comes to old town on the first Friday in December with an Illumination Walk, in which Santa lights Old Town!  Then he heads to GumDrop Square and Santa’s Secret Workshop.  Every Friday night in December prior to Christmas, all the shops will stay open late from 6-9 p.m. and there will be fun for the whole family, both young and old!  Listed below are the times for all the festivities! 

Friday December 5th @ 6 p.m.

  • Lighting of the Mosby Museum
  • Illumination Walk and the Arrival of Santa
  • GumDrop Square Opens: 7-9 p.m.
  • Horse Drawn Hayrides ~ Refreshments ~ Shops open late ~ Live Nativity ~ Carolers ~ Entertainment

Christmas Cookies for Santa { Professional Photographer Northern VA MD }

I had the priviledge of working with a wonderful local business to come up with a theme and design for their December Christmas & holiday advertising.  It certainly helped that they brought the most adorable little models into the studio for their ad session…including a furry one named “Lulu”, too! 

This darling and upscale boutique is located right on Main Street in Old Town Warrenton and has the most amazing clothing and creative toys you will find!  The children looked completely adorable in their holiday outfits – available for purchase at the boutique.  If you are still looking for that special outfit for family Christmas parties or special holiday portraits, then a stop into Dharma & Leopold’s Children’s Chic Boutique is a must!

Yes, Christmas is just 10 short weeks away and I can hardly believe it!  It is time to start giving some serious thought to having your photo Christmas Cards and personalized Holiday Cards created.  It may seem a bit early but it’s really not at all!  In fact, creating a custom card for you, submitting it to the printers and getting the finished product delivered to you can take 2-4 weeks!  We want to be sure you have them in plenty of time to get them addressed and mailed to all your friends!

Many times clients are unsure of what to have their children wear.  I have loads of suggestions and ideas to share.  Call me and we can discuss some fun alternatives to the “typical” photo Christmas cards.  Santa is also available to join your child in their session!  Ho Ho Ho!!!

Our Christmas sessions are very limited and must be completed by November 7th to ensure a timely delivery of your cards.

As an added benefit, you will be able to purchase any additional gift portraits of your choice at our reduced “Create Your Own”  (“CYO”) prices! 

Last year, we personally had SO MANY compliments on our family’s photo Christmas cards – it was amazing!  The cool thing was it was like giving a small gift portrait to each person on our list!  In fact, many of our family and friends left them sitting out all year!  The quality and design is truly upscale to anything you have seen!   Call the photo studio if you have any questions or would like to see samples.
