This sweet mom and dad-to-be came from Alexandria, Virginia this week for a “your bump as { art }”™ maternity portrait session. Mom brought a few items from home to use and I just adore the red silk shawl she brought! She said her aunt actually put all the beautiful fringe on the edges…what an elegant way to capture this special time and honor her Spanish heritage.

This 10 month old little sweetie was here Thursday and we had the best time! I have to tell you…this baby girl had the most beautiful, long eye lashes I have ever seen on a baby! And they encircled the yummiest chocolate brown eyes! I could tell her momma loves her to pieces and I can see why. She was a bit shy at first but after a while little Miss “G” warmed right up for us!
Here’s a sneak peek for her adoring mother and father…enjoy these images of “your baby as {art}”™.

This expecting mom & dad were here a few days ago from Alexandria, Virginia for their maternity portraits. They are such a sweet, sweet couple and I cannot wait to meet their little boy! He is destined to be a Green Bay Packers football fan if his dad has any say about it!
So, here are a couple sneak peeks of “your bump as { art }”™ and I just love them both! Hope you do too!!

I promised I’d share another fav from this Lorton, Virginia couple’s pregnancy portrait session. I love this image so much! This image would be a perfect ”your bump as { Art }” ™ wall portrait. Your little princess will be here soon!

I have been wanting to share this image but had to keep it “under wraps” until Mom & Dad came in from Vienna Virginia for their Investment Session. They were here yesterday and I told them then that I could not wait to share this ”your baby as { Art }”™ portrait on the blog.
I adore this image and the emotional connection of it. This big brother was such a sweet, sweet boy and he was so still and gentle while I got his baby sister in place…he didn’t hardly flinch when he realized that she was tinkling on him! How awesome is that for a boy of his age?? Well done little Mr. ”B”. I am so proud of you, dear. I hope you like this portrait of you and your baby sister as much as your Mom & Dad do!

What a sweet couple who came all the way from Laurel, Maryland for their maternity portrait session! I had so much fun with both of them and we created some beautiful images of their soon expected baby girl. Dad was awesome in the first one don’t you think??
Be sure to leave some blog love for them!

This sweet family from Sterling, Virginia returned two weeks sooner than what they had planned…that’s because their sweet baby girl decided she was coming earlier than her doctors predicted! ;-) Her parents warned me that she was fiesty and she sure was but we still got some awesome images. So, here are just a couple sneak peeks for her adoring family, big sister and friends.
Be sure to leave some blog love for this sweet family and their newborn baby girl!

I promised this couple I would sneak peek another of my favorite images from their maternity session. I love mom’s expression and the purple wrap is gorgeous on her.

I finished up this precious newborn baby girls’ session in the studio today. But the artist in me just would not let me leave this image alone! I have learned to listen to that little voice and so I started creating…I love the finished portrait and just thought I’d share it with you all. It has a shabby, vintage feel to it that I just love. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

I have the best job in the world! I am so blessed to be able to work with these brand new little miracles straight from heaven!
This baby girl’s parents, grandparents and friends have been waiting for their second sneak peek so here’s “your baby as art” ™.

This darling young lady from Warrenton, Virginia came in yesterday for her maternity portaits and we had the best time! Her baby boy was due on Tuesday so we are so glad he waited and allowed us the time to get his first portraits just prior to his arrival.
The portrait image below is especially touching, I think. The small photo next to her is of the expectant daddy when he was a baby…how sweet is that?

I just love this image below! Isn’t she just gorgeous? Can I just say that she’s just as beautiful, if not more beautiful on the inside! We had such a fun time together!
Now, I normally prefer color images but the black and white photography version is just as captivating on this mom-to-be!! Either version would be an awesome “your bump as art” ™ wall portrait.

And isn’t this cute??

And, just one more sneak peek because I cannot help myself! I just love this pose too. I decided to add some artful touches along with our Fine Art finish and I love the resulting image.

This darling mom-to-be came into the studio today from Warrenton, Virginia for some artistic maternity portraits. She was at the very end of her pregnancy ~ her baby was actually due today! I am so glad the baby waited!
When you think about it, maternity portraits are really your baby’s first photos. So, we started off doing some very artistic images. The first one would be a wonderful “your bump as art” ™ wall portrait. Gorgeous in a bedroom setting!
After getting the creative images, we ended with some fun ones!
So, here is a sneak peek for the expectant mom and dad-to-be as they celebrate the final momements of their pregnancy. Be sure to share your comments with them below….

This little cherub from Woodbridge Virginia is just four weeks old when she came to the studio for her newborn baby photos…she simply warmed my heart with all the little faces she made!

I swear this little girl was curled up just like this in her mommy’s womb…

And look at little Miss “K” here. This is definitely a “your baby as art” ™ portrait!

Be sure to leave your blog comments (by clicking just below this entry) for the brand new mom and dad! They are very proud and they should be!
This week I had the pleasure of meeting the two beautiful children featured below from Manassas, Virginia. Mom brought young Master “E” in for a very special portrait session. You see, their family has a wonderful tradition going back 100 years! The tradition is that every boy in the family has his portrait taken at the age of 7 years. I felt so privileged to be the photographer helping to carry on this wonderful family tradition. What an honor!
Mom also brought along a beautiful clock that has been passed down in their family for generations. It was purchased by the little boy’s great-great-grandpa for his wife. Then it passed to his son, the boy’s great-grandpa…who, at age 7, is pictured in the framed portrait beside the clock! Since then it has been passed down two more times and now resides at the little boy’s home, waiting to grace the home of the next generation. What an incredible heirloom this clock and these portraits are!
So, here is a sneak peek for Mom, Dad and their family of one of my favorite images, done in both color and converted to black & white.

When I was done with the young gent, it was time to spend some time with his little sister. Miss “A” was all energy and loads of fun! She looked absolutely precious in her old fashioned gown. I could not help myself in converting this portrait from it’s full color version to a ”vintage” version, making it a perfect “your child as art”™ portrait. Look at her little rosey cheeks!
