Like most photographers, I get an itch from time to time to try something different. I’ve had these maternity poses in my mind for some time now & I’ve been waiting for someone willing to indulge my creative juices. This lovely lady gave me free reign… and she totally rocked the “windy mama” pose! On top of that, doesn’t she just “glow” in the pink maternity wrap?
The pregnant body is such a beautiful thing to behold and be proud of. You are carrying the gift of life – what a awesome experience you have been given as a new mom. Many of our clients have been trying for years to become pregnant and we are so honored when they allow us to help them celebrate their pregnancy with maternity portrait art for their home.

Thinking about maternity pictures? Our studio in the Washington DC metro area specializes in chic maternity portraits that are elegant yet modest & sometimes even a little ”windy.” Just imagine… your bump as {art}™ !

I normally share two sneak peeks and since I only had time last week for one of these precious newborn twins, I wanted to share another one for their mother, father and extended family! There are so many cute ones it was hard to pick but this one has to be one of the cutest!

This precious newborn baby boy and his proud mommy came all the way from Arlington, Virginia yesterday as a squeeze-in appointment… I am soooo glad we were able to accomodate them as we had such a wonderful time with this sleeply little man. All though he arrived almost four weeks earlier than expected, this premie still weighed in at a healthy 7 lb, 8oz and 21″ long!! I know mom was wondering what he would have weighed had he reached full term! Yikes!
Mom loves hats… so here are a few sneak peeks for her of her little blessing donning some of her favorites from our creative newborn hats collection here at the studio!
Don’t forget ~ parents of our newborns always love your comments…. don’t be shy! Leave them some blog love below…

This beautiful little baby boy posed with his equally beautiful mother for some classic mom & baby portraits. He had the cutest little head of hair that had a mind of it’s own! Dad, mom and baby traveled from Woodstock, Virginia and even though baby was almost four weeks old, we were still able to capture this very, very special time with some unique infant portraits for his proud parents.
Here’s a quick sneak peek of their portrait session for you all to enjoy. Don’t forget to use the gray comment box below to leave them some blog love……

Santa made an early visit to the Washington DC area this year. He stopped by the studio for some fun and creative baby Christmas portraits. Little baby “G” wasn’t exactly sure what to think. Even when she mustered up enough nerve to reach for her “first bell of Christmas” she never took her eyes off of Santa.
I remember when we celebrated my baby’s first Christmas (11 years ago)…. Oh the innocence and wonder………. Wow, time passes so quickly. So mom & dad, hope this image helps you preserve the memory of your baby’s Christmas for many years to come and always….

This 4 month old baby boy had the best time checking out the lights and every prop in the studio! He was very, very alert and inquisitive for his age. The top image is one of my personal favs as it totally shows off his incredible eyes! His Momma & Grandma brought him all the way from the Woodbridge, Virginia area so all though it was a good drive for them, I know capturing this time in their little man’s life will be totally worth it.
Oh… be sure you use the grey box below to leave this cutie patootie some blog love! His family is sure to appreciate your comments.

This sweet mom and dad-to-be came from Alexandria, Virginia this week for a “your bump as { art }”™ maternity portrait session. Mom brought a few items from home to use and I just adore the red silk shawl she brought! She said her aunt actually put all the beautiful fringe on the edges…what an elegant way to capture this special time and honor her Spanish heritage.
Please feel free to leave your comments in the grey comment box below for the excited mother and father-to-be!

A moment captured in time…a tender moment…a brief moment…a bittersweet memory that will last in this couple’s hearts forever. Shortly after the creation of this image, their sweet baby boy slipped from this world into the arms of Jesus. For reasons his sweet parents will never understand, he was called home.
Their loss touched all of us here at the studio deeply and we continue to pray for them. So, at the request of his parents, I share this in memory of little Micah Aiden. You can tell he was loved so very deeply…

This very active, almost one year old baby girl visited the studio last week and boy did she keep me and her momma on our toes! She ended up wearing her own self out and after a little bit of cuddling, she fell asleep. Now, I normally do not get a chance to “play” with a baby this old who is sleeping but when the opportunity arose, I jumped on it. I just adore this image below…totally! She didn’t stay this way very long but just long enough to capture some precious moments for her mom.
Mom wants a Gina Alexander ”my everything” photo bag. This “your baby as {art}”™ image would be beautiful for one of these luxurious, upscale bags. Many styles of unique one-of -a-kind photo handbags are available in the boutique section at Dandelion Wishes® Photography and make the best gifts. They are awesome to tote around all the things that mommies need to have on hand.
Be sure to leave some comments for this precious little cherub’s parents and family!

What a fun time I had with this precious little girl and her mom yesterday! She is turning one next week and mom wanted to be sure to have portraits of this special event. Little Miss “I” was such a happy little girlie! She has the most amazing dark brown eyes as you can see in the first image. Her little lashes are just to die for!!
The adorable dress was purchased at a wonderful baby and children’s boutique right here in Warrenton! They have such a mix of wonderful things for children ~ from birth on up! If you have not visited Old Town Warrenton lately you simply must check it out.
Here is a sneak peek of Miss “I” for her adoring family…as always we love to have any and everybody leave some blog love for this precious one year old girl!

This expecting mom & dad were here a few days ago from Alexandria, Virginia for their maternity portraits. They are such a sweet, sweet couple and I cannot wait to meet their little boy! He is destined to be a Green Bay Packers football fan if his dad has any say about it!
So, here are a couple sneak peeks of “your bump as { art }”™ and I just love them both! Hope you do too!!

What a darling little baby boy Mr. “J” was ~ just 7 days old! He seemed to really enjoy his time snuggled up with his nursery friends! His mother and father from Fairfax, Virginia were just the sweetest couple…boy am I blessed with the nicest clients ever!
Be sure to leave some comments for this very proud first time mom and dad and their families!!!
Look at those precious little lips and button nose…heart melting!!

I promised I’d share another fav from this Lorton, Virginia couple’s pregnancy portrait session. I love this image so much! This image would be a perfect ”your bump as { Art }” ™ wall portrait. Your little princess will be here soon!
Please leave some blog love in the comment box below for this sweet expectant mom & dad!

Oh my goodness, I have not had this much fun with one of my little subjects in quite a while. This little lad was the sweetest and most delightful little guy! His smile just lit up the studio. Here’s one of my favs…bet you can see why he was so much fun by the little sparkle in his eyes.
Feel free to leave comments for this little guy and his family!

I am busy, busy, busy working on client sessions today and thought I’d share one of my favorite images from a recent newborn portrait session. This is one of my favortie “miracle shots” so far. I have done it for two of my clients and they both turned out awesome! The other client brought the same fresh flowers she used in her wedding (blue hydrangeas~ one of my favorites!) to be incorporated into the setting and it turned out beautiful too. I just love little newborn tooshies in the air! Can’t you just imagine this as a ”your baby as { Art }”™ gallery wrap canvas hanging in the nursery? Oh my!
