Remember Miss Bright Eyes? Well, she came back earlier this week and we are so glad she did! She was comfy cozy all tucked in her basket below and remained in sweet slumber throughout most of our repeat newborn session. Check out how cute she is donning one of our newest newborn baby hats!

If you’re pregnant and live close to the greater Washington D.C. metro area we’d love to help you capture this special time in the life of your newborn with artistic wall art portraits. Imagine… ”your baby as {art}”

This absolutely beautiful baby girlie was with us yesterday for her newborn session – however, she decided that she did NOT want to miss out on anything. So, she pretty much stayed wide awake for almost the entire session! I had to admit defeat and give her credit for outlasting me. As many of you know, I normally prevail in these situations but on this occasion – not so much!
So, her loving mommy is going drive back from Alexandria, Virginia again next week so we can create those dreamy, sleepy baby portraits that we all adore. In the mean time, the portrait below is the perfect representation of Miss J’s whole visit with us – big beautiful bright eyes and all! And look at her yummy baby cheeks…

The “M” Family came from Springfield, Virginia to have a special portrait created of their third child. Traditionally, they have had portraits created at 18 months for their first two children and now Miss ”A” has reached that milestone.
Here is a sneak peek of your adorable little blessing!

A lovely mom from Alexandria Virginia brought her adorable baby girl in this week to celebrate her first birthday with some “baby’s 1st birthday portraits.” Before we got into the “smash the birthday cake” shots we caught just a few images of her in her girlie finerie. Precious little lips, rosey cheeks and beautiful eyes – she is picture perfect! But Oh Baby – she really enjoyed the second part when she got to eat the icing on the cake!
I remember when my daughter was this age and now she is getting ready to turn ten! Time flies so quickly…what better way to remember this milestone than with a few portraits like this?

This Alexandria Virginia mom and dad were in the portrait studio just a few weeks ago for their maternity portraits. Last week they brought their precious little baby girl back for some creative newborn baby portraits. Her mother and father have been waiting a long time to hold her…she was definitely worth the wait!
Even her abuela who was visiting from Connecticut came along to enjoy the experience… we all enjoyed watching this precious little angel donning her flower hat. And the SMILES! Oh my!! This little girl was full of smiles for us!
Thanks for leaving the parents of this newborn baby some blog love in the comment box beneath her portraits….

This little Christmas doll baby from Alexandria, Virginia fell asleep waiting for Santa. Mom & dad & baby attended our Photo Christmas Card & Holiday Portrait event two weekends ago. We got a wonderful family portrait just before little Miss “A” decided it was time for a nap! As a professional baby photographer, I have learned to go with the flow and I am so glad we did.
Since mom and dad want their family portrait to be a surprise for all their friends and family on their Christmas card list, here is just a little sneak peek of their sleeping angel…

This sweet mom and dad-to-be came from Alexandria, Virginia this week for a “your bump as { art }”™ maternity portrait session. Mom brought a few items from home to use and I just adore the red silk shawl she brought! She said her aunt actually put all the beautiful fringe on the edges…what an elegant way to capture this special time and honor her Spanish heritage.

What an absolutely adorable baby boy! I am so lovin’ his beautiful head of hair. Little “R” was a wonderfully cooperative little subject too. I wish he could have stayed longer…I could have easily kept playing with him. Not only is his daddy a doctor but so are his grandparents…so, mom and dad brought along a miniature pair of scrubs for him to wear…OMGosh, talk about cute!
So, to the family of “R”, here are a couple sneak peeks of your darling and perfect little man. To my blog readers…be sure to leave some comments for this little one’s proud family!

This expecting mom & dad were here a few days ago from Alexandria, Virginia for their maternity portraits. They are such a sweet, sweet couple and I cannot wait to meet their little boy! He is destined to be a Green Bay Packers football fan if his dad has any say about it!
So, here are a couple sneak peeks of “your bump as { art }”™ and I just love them both! Hope you do too!!

This precious baby girl was in the studio this week for her newborn portraits and ”oh my” what a cutie pie she is! Look at her beautiful big brown eyes…not to mention that curlie hair! No wonder her mother and father are gushing over her! So, here is a sneak peek for you, your friends and all of your out of state family!
Be sure to leave this Alexandria, Virginia mom & dad some blog love! They love to see everybody’s comments!!

This has been a busy, busy week with maternity portrait sessions… this couple from Alexandria, Virginia were such a sweet couple. I so enjoyed every minute of our time together and I promised them I would try to sneak peek a couple images from their session over this weekend. I love this first one…she lookes so beautiful in green, don’t you think? The second portrait is one of my favorite poses. I love the strength of the expectant dad’s hands on mom’s beautiful bump!
As always, our clients appreciate your blog love. So be sure to leave some comments for this expecting couple in the grey box below…

Such a beautiful mom-to-be from Washington DC ! Her baby is due in less than two weeks but she looked like she had 2 months to go in my opinion! I wish I had looked half as good as she does!! Here is a quick sneak peak for her and her friends and family!
Please leave some blog love for this gorgeous momma in the comments box below!

Since my kids are off school for Easter break this week, we decided to do a couple of “fun” things. So, off we went to a wonderful exhibit at the National Geographic building in Washington, DC. We all had such a great time and it was great fun trying to photograph all the cool frogs and toads. Honestly, if you love these little amphibians, then you must try to get to this exhibit. There are probably a couple dozen different species…some much cuter than others! So, here is just a few of my favorite froggy friends…

This week I had the pleasure of meeting the two beautiful children featured below from Manassas, Virginia. Mom brought young Master “E” in for a very special portrait session. You see, their family has a wonderful tradition going back 100 years! The tradition is that every boy in the family has his portrait taken at the age of 7 years. I felt so privileged to be the photographer helping to carry on this wonderful family tradition. What an honor!
Mom also brought along a beautiful clock that has been passed down in their family for generations. It was purchased by the little boy’s great-great-grandpa for his wife. Then it passed to his son, the boy’s great-grandpa…who, at age 7, is pictured in the framed portrait beside the clock! Since then it has been passed down two more times and now resides at the little boy’s home, waiting to grace the home of the next generation. What an incredible heirloom this clock and these portraits are!
So, here is a sneak peek for Mom, Dad and their family of one of my favorite images, done in both color and converted to black & white.

When I was done with the young gent, it was time to spend some time with his little sister. Miss “A” was all energy and loads of fun! She looked absolutely precious in her old fashioned gown. I could not help myself in converting this portrait from it’s full color version to a ”vintage” version, making it a perfect “your child as art”™ portrait. Look at her little rosey cheeks!

Be sure to leave your comments for the parents of these two precious children!
